Good morning, good afternoon, or good evening to wherever you may be on this fine day. As many of you may know, it has been a few days since I have had the great honor of being inducted as the People’s Imperial Confederation’s 41st Commander-in-Chief on November 2nd, 2024. I have been so pleased with our performance since our recent comeback. A 20 max on our comeback event and a successful 16 max during our latest US event. While I have already addressed the nation before in the announcements channel of our server, I wanted to take the opportunity to formally address the Confederates here on the PIC site. I want to tell you who I am, why I am here, and my plans, aspirations, and hopes for this army. PIC is one of the greatest fighting forces the Small/Medium Army scene has ever seen, and I intend to help it reach its previous heights alongside my fellow co-leaders. But, many of you may be unfamiliar with me as I am coming from a place other than the PIC. I ask that you lend me some of your time and read this post. I want the Confederates to know who I am and why I am here. I want our great Confederates to know that there are big plans we have and massive things to come. PIC will once again reach its potential. So dear Confederates, I, 54x, your proud 41st Commander-in-Chief, would like to formally address our great nation.
First off, who am I? Perhaps some of you know but I assume others do not. I do not want to assume I am known by all. Let me briefly take you into a dive into my army career and why I think these experiences helped mold me into the person I am today and why I think they qualify me to be your leader, PIC. When appointing a new leader, it is quite a lot to ask of HCOM, staff, and troops to put their trust into such a figure, but I want to earn your trust and respect and show you who I am. Perhaps this may be interesting to some, but I actually got my start with Club Penguin Armies in late March of 2020. As you all know the pandemic had caused lockdown at this time so many of us were left with nothing to do. I found myself on Club Penguin Online, eventually recruited into my first army by auto typers, the Doritos of Club Penguin. From there, I spent my time working up the ranks, eventually getting to 3rd in Command by about August or June of 2020. Through my time there, I learned how major armies worked, how to connect with troops, how to work hard to grow a community.
Eventually in September of 2020 I departed the DCP to help out in the S/M army scene, particularly as 2nd in Command of the historic army, Romans. As DCP HCOM, I had branched out and overseen operations of various S/M armies as advisor such as Golden Troops, Secret Service, and Sun Troops to name a few. I joined Romans as HCOM in September of 2020 because I believed I could help them. I believed I could help take a struggling yet historic small army back to its heights. Eventually, I had the immense honor of being promoted to Romans leader where I truly got my first taste of leading a real S/M army. Unfortunately while it didn’t last long due to the September drop with everyone returning to school, I was honored to lead the Romans of CP for the month that I did until it finally shut down for its final generation. From there, I took part of the massive Operation Red Winter to revive the Underground Mafias Army where I was eventually given 2nd in Command, just below leader. During my time in such a high rank in yet another historic army, I learned what it truly takes to lead a successful army. Not only that, but I also took on various advisor roles in small/medium armies to help out there. At some point I had even helped found the meme army, USSR (which of course is funny considering PIC’s theme).
I feel that I learned excellent leadership skills through my time as high command in major armies such as the DCP and UMA and of course, learned how to truly lead a S/M during my time as Romans Legate. Admittedly I was an immature teen back in 2020 and eventually I left CPA for various reasons. I would return in 2021 to help out with a S/M army called Trojans, but only for around three months before I left the community again. It would only be in 2024 that I came back unexpectedly after receiving a message from my greatest and closest friend in armies and my now current co-leader in PIC, your 40th Commander-in-Chief, Scars. I was awoken from my slumber to see that Scars wanted to revive an army I once created as a massive meme back in 2020, an army that many of you may know, the Scars of CP.
Scars had told me one day randomly in August that he wanted to revive our army that had a few failed and relatively successful generations in the past. I thought he was crazy but, in the span of an hour, we planned a revival event and I returned to CPA. We ended up mustering enough troops in the span of an hour for a spontaneous revival event for the SCP that eventually got the army official with the CPA league. From there, I led the meme army with Scars for a few months until I eventually stepped down in October due to midterms at school. While the Scars of CP was a meme army, we became something special. We became a consistent force in the S/M community. We were regularly maxing in the 10-12 range and event managed to hit 20 on two separate occasions, a massive achievement for the meme army.
While the SCP was a mostly unserious affair, Scars and I led it competently and because of it, we managed to stay alive for quite some time, much longer than we had expected. But all good things do come to an end. By the end of October, the SCP was not doing too well. Staff were inactive as were troops and we were failing to pull numbers for events. By very late October, my midterm exams had finished and I debated coming back to lead the SCP. But, I thought to myself that I longed for something different. I longed for something serious. Yes the SCP was a fun meme but leading it made me realize how much I truly do love leading. It made me long to prove myself in this community once again and help lead a REAL legitimate S/M army. I never thought I’d get that chance. Who would take a man who has been out of the serious leading game for around 3-4 years and just came off of leading the meme army that was the SCP? Still, I wanted to prove myself somewhere, prove that I had it in me to lead, prove that I was capable of taking things seriously again.
Perhaps it was destiny that I found myself connecting with the PIC. As a long time member of this community, despite having never been directly involved with it, I had obviously heard of the PIC. I don’t think I need to tell you the great accomplishments of this army that has been going strong ever since 2019. This army is something special and always has been. While it is an honor to lead any army, it certainly is one to lead the People’s Imperial Confederation. Many great names are on that PIC leaders list, many army legends and prominent figures in this community. One would think for a joke or a troll like me who only led the SCP meme army, it would be impossible for me to sniff that kind of position in a serious army. But I think it is the very principle that the PIC was founded on in 2019 that led me to them and the position I am in today.
As you know, PIC had been on hiatus for the month of October of 2024. Many of our great leaders had to retire and step down due to various reasons, mostly not having enough time to properly dedicate to leading PIC. PIC was at a low. We were in hiatus and it seemed that leaders Sweater and Saber would have to keep this great army afloat by themselves. SCP was dying, I was looking for a meaningful return to somewhere, and it just so happened that PIC needed help. I saw the great community that has been built here. I didn’t want to let that die. I wanted to be a part of it. I wanted so badly to help it come roaring back to the community. So, I reached out. I offered to help, a serious offer, knowing that perhaps my past would not do me any favors in being considered for such a role. But I truly had a passion, a passion that wanted to be unlocked through PIC.
I was incredibly honored when speaking with PIC leaders and advisors that they were willing to let me help lead this great army. It was a responsibility I did not and will never take lightly or as a joke. Eventually, we did have our comeback on November 2nd, 2024, and with that, the time was right. I was so proud to be officially inducted as the 41st Commander-in-Chief and leader of this great army. PIC gave me and Scars, two “meme leaders” with perhaps dubious background yet solid experience, the chance to reinvigorate and lead the great People’s Imperial Confederation. I cannot tell you how happy and deeply honored we both were upon being ascended to leaders of the PIC.
I want you, Confederates, to know, that the duty of leading the PIC is NOT something I take lightly or for granted at all. It is a privilege to be selected or promoted to leader in any legitimate and storied army such as this one. Leader is not a rank one gives out for free or to someone unwarranted or incapable of such a position. PIC advisors and leaders gave me and Scars an amazing chance to prove ourselves and help aid the PIC. But why does this matter? Well, I think it speaks to the type of place the PIC is and always has been. The PIC was founded by army legend Sidie with the goal of not only having fun, but of making an army where people would be able to prove themselves. An army where with enough hard work, even the lowest member rank could one day become leader. The PIC was founded as an army of great opportunity, of giving people a chance to prove their worths in this community. Now, I have been given the great honor of leading our nation alongside Scars, Sweater, and Saber as your Commander-in-Chief. Although I am leader, the work has barely started. I have some plans and hopes for this great army that I want to share with you all so you truly know I am serious about this and only want our army to achieve great heights.
So, what the hell are you even doing here, 54x, you may be asking. You’re all talk but what are your plans? Of course that’s valid- a leader must have a plan for the future. I can assure that myself, Scars, and the other two leaders you are very familiar with, have big plans. We do NOT plan on letting this army die any time soon and we are going to once again make PIC a regular force on the top ten, one not to be messed with. So enough with the political jargon- here’s my plans for the future.
The plan is simple really. I’m not going to let the PIC die or fall into another hiatus on my watch. I am committed to regularly hosting events and getting us on the CPA top ten list. I want PIC to be a bustling and chill community like it always has been and still is. I want us ALL to have fun as we host various events and perhaps in the future, go to war. Plus, December is not that far away. The great Christmas Chaos tournament will be approaching. I and my fellow leaders are going to keep this army alive and well. We are going to host events and various other fun activities. PIC is back baby, and it’s returning to full activity. This I promise you as your leader, the PIC WILL be great once more. We will stay alive and we will once again establish ourselves as a prominent force in this community. I am committed to making this happen, but of course, I need all of your help. An army is nothing without its troops and staff. So I ask that you put your trust into me and the other three leaders and let us guide you. Let us help you. Feel free to message me because I want my staff and troops’ voices to be heard. Yes I am your leader but that does not make me superior to you. We are all in this together. I am nothing with out you, Confederates.
This I vow to you, I will do everything to the best of my ability to make PIC a thriving and fun community for everyone, a place to give others a chance to prove themselves. So please, join me in continuing to further the legacy of this fantastic army. I hope that you are a little bit more familiar with just exactly who I am and where I came from as well as why I feel I am qualified enough to truly be your next leader, PIC. I hope I have outlined my goals and aspirations for raising PIC back up again with the help of my fellow leaders and of course, our great staff and troops. Let us usher in a new era of prosperity for the Confederation.
For now, this is Commander-in-Chief 54x, signing off. Big things are to come, Confederates. STAY TUNED!
