Club Penguin Journey: The Two Best Ways to Earn Coins Fast

Method 1: Cart Surfer

Regardless of which version of Club Penguin you play, Cart Surfer has always been one of the most popular ways to earn coins. As you might expect, this iconic mini-game didn’t gain its reputation for no reason. Each session of Cart Surfer can earn you between 300 to 450 coins if you use the correct techniques, with experienced players earning up to 500 coins. Considering a single session lasts around 60 seconds, it’s no wonder Cart Surfer became a favourite for many penguin ballers.

To give you a better idea of why Cart Surfer is recommended, I conducted a quick experiment to see how many coins I could earn in just 10 minutes. Using only a method I will explain later in this post, I managed to earn a whopping 3852 coins! Additionally, earning all the stamps for the mini-game will double your coin earnings, so I’d have earned 7704 coins! Compared to any other avenue, this is hands-down the BEST way to earn coins if you have spare time. Other mini-games can yield similar coin rewards, though each session takes significantly longer than Cart Surfer does.

That’s enough rambling about mathematics. Below is the method I use to earn coins quickly in Cart Surfer:

Part One: Find Cart Surfer

This step seems like a joke, but I assume this guide might be used by brand new CPJourney users who haven’t played a CPPS before. To play Cart Surfer, you’ll need to click on the map icon at the bottom-left of your screen:

Afterwards, find the Mine Shack icon and click on it:

Once you’ve loaded the room, go inside of the Mine Shack:

Once you’re inside, move your penguin to the mining shaft displayed below:

Part Two: The Best Technique

Playing the mini-game by itself can earn you a good amount of coins, but a simple technique will make your road to riches far quicker. The only controls you will need are your arrow keys, and the space bar to respawn if you crash the cart.

When you begin your game, spam your DOWN ARROW KEY (↓). Your penguin will start running with the cart in its hands. This move will earn you 80 points (8 coins).

Once your penguin returns to the cart and the animation finishes, start spamming your UP ARROW KEY (↑). Your penguin will do a handstand on the cart, yielding another 80 points (8 coins).

When both steps have been completed, all you need to do is repeat them for the entire session. Make sure you switch between the two moves, because repeated moves will reduce the number of coins you earn by half.

When going around corners, press the DOWN ARROW KEY (↓) once and then hold the LEFT or RIGHT ARROW KEY (← or →) depending on which direction the turn is. This will make your penguin grind around corners, earning up to 90 points (9 coins) for each corner. Your penguin will crash if you hold for too long, so be careful.

Congratulations! You’re on your way to being a penguin millionaire.

Method 2: AFK Mining

Another staple of every rags-to-riches story, Away-From-Keyboard (AFK) Mining is your second option for earning coins easily. Mining is very simple. All you need to do is pick up the free Miners Helmet and start dancing!

Every version of Club Penguin (CPJourney, NewCP, CPLegacy etc.) has different rates of efficiency for mining. On surface value, CPJourney ranks poorly in terms of coin yield. Similarly to the previous method, I conducted a 10 minute experiment to see how many coins I could earn. In total, my penguin earned only 321 coins. However, unlike other CP private servers, CPJourney rarely ever kicks penguins for inactivity! This means you can go outside or do something in real life while earning a passive penguin income (assuming you don’t lose connection to the game). Though the cash flow is slow, the mining adds up over time.

To start mining, head to the Mine Shack as shown in the Cart Surfer guide. Once you are there, continue through tunnel shown below:

When you’ve reached the digging room, make sure to click the helmets and jackhammer to receive your own helmet. It might take a few tries, but eventually a screen to pick up the item will appear.

Click on your penguin to go to your inventory. Equip the Mining Helmet and unequip all other items. Once you have your helmet, move your penguin to the dirt.
