People’s Posts: Interview With Chairwoman Shallissa

On Sunday, I interviewed Chairwoman and Commander-in-Chief Shallissa to inform the community about who she is and her experiences in PIC thus far.

Shallissa, commonly referred to as Sha for short, made her first appearance in the Club Penguin army community in June 2019. First serving in the Recon Federation, she joined the Templars as leader in 2020 before joining as fourth-in-command within the People’s Imperial Confederation of Club Penguin in January 2021.

Because of her recruiting contributions and leadership skills, which can be attributed to her past army experiences, she rose up to Commander-in-Chief in less than a month. Under her shared leadership, PIC saw max sizes of 15-20 and became a familiar face on the Top Ten.

Eventually, in June 2021, Shallissa retired from the army and took an active advisory role as Chairwoman. As an advisor, she oversaw PIC’s effort in the Project: Conquest tournament. Her retirement did not last long, however, as she returned later that summer and contributed to the army’s successful war effort against the historic Golden Troops and its proxy, the Post Malone Army.

Shallissa remained active as Commander-in-Chief through World War VIII, a worldwide war centered around the Help Force and Silver Empire, and the War of the Old World, a conflict between the People’s Imperial Confederation and the Trojans, before the army went into hiatus in early 2022.

Alongside PIC founder Sidie9, she would be a significant figure in the army’s February 2023 revival. Her efforts paved the way for a war victory against the Dark Vikings and the army’s first tournament champion title after defeating the Special Weapons And Tactics and Friendly Gamers in Beach Brawl III.

What drove you to join the People’s Imperial Confederation?

Shallissa: My history with PIC is complicated. As a former member of RFCP, I made many attempts to harm PIC through raids. Additionally, I had many personal grudges against Sidie and many other PIC veterans. After leading RFCP I worked really hard on building friendships with PIC people. I felt very lost and out of place within CPA and I wanted a new and safe home army with friends I trusted and cared about. When I heard talks about PIC reviving for a third generation, joining was a complete no brainer. Although I was offered leader right away, earning that title was important to me due to my past actions against PIC. I joined as the lowest hicom rank and moved up to leader within a week due to my recruiting efforts. Overall, my restored friendship with many PIC veterans and my desire to right my wrongs is what led me to join PIC. It was the best decision I’ve ever made in armies.

What is your favorite memory from the army thus far?

Shallissa: This is such a hard question, I have so many great memories from my time in PIC. The first ever Sidies award ceremony was so much fun. Everything from the voting, the hype, the turnout, and the fun we all had was amazing. Celebrating PIC’s anniversary and all of the people who helped us along the way was very memorable for me. I loved being able to award hard working members of PIC. I’m really excited for the next Sidies in October!

What has been your favorite PIC war or conflict thus far?

Shallissa: I have a soft spot for all of PIC’s wars and conflicts, however one is my absolute favorite. Beating the Dark Vikings in AUSIA Arena was by far the most satisfying victory. Beating someone who looks down on your army (looking at you SWAT) is always very exciting, but beating DV who has demonstrated disgusting behavior and have always hated PIC is something I will never forget. I’ll never let Krosive forget it either.

Where do you see the People’s Imperial Confederation in the next few months?

Shallissa: The September drop has hit PIC hard. Many of our leaders are super busy with work and life in general. However I’m confident things will pick up. I’d love to see us hit Major status by the end of the year, I think it’s very much possible if every single leader and staff member puts in the work.

What advice can you give comrades looking to rank up?

Shallissa: Ranking up in PIC is fairly simple compared to other armies. My one piece of advice is ATTEND EVENTS!!! For the most part our leadership is able to look past things like recruiting if you’re at least willing to be active in main chat and attend events as much as possible. Everything in PIC is a collective effort, and sometimes certain responsibilities will be in more demand than others. Right now the best way to get yourself promoted is to attend events!

Saved the best question for last: What is your favorite song?

Shallissa: I’ve had this on repeat the past few weeks. The vocals and lyrics in this song are indescribable. Each person involved deserves a Grammy. #STOPTHESTEAL
