In this edition of the People’s Posts, we take a look at the War of the Old World, one of the shortest wars our army has ever fought in. Read on to learn who came out victorious!

Beginning of the End

On December 19, 2021, the People’s Imperial Confederation of Club Penguin declared war on the Trojans in what would be known as the War of the Old World. The conflict’s name is a reference to the fact that both groups are based on past armies and nations. Although wars within the Club Penguin army community tend to begin out of discontent, the War of the Old World began from PIC’s desire to have a fun and competitive conflict with a favorable opponent.

Trials, Tribulations, and The Trojans Shutdown

On December 23, the People’s Imperial Confederation attempted to invade Athens from the Trojans. Both armies fought valiantly, but the Confederation ended up victorious, winning two of the three rooms and adding another server to its nation.

Three days later, the Trojans switched to the offensive and attempted to invade Poland. The battle concluded much sooner than expected, however, as the few Trojans soldiers who attended logged off in the midst of the battle and the army announced its closure. Ultimately, this was deemed to be a forfeit of the conflict and led to the People’s Imperial Confederation being crowned the victors of the War of the Old World.

Commander’s Perspective

To learn more about the war and the details surrounding it, I reached out to Shallissa, one of the leaders who led the war effort against the Trojans.

What went into the People’s war effort against the Trojans?

Shallissa: The People’s Imperial Confederation went into the War of the Old World on a winning streak. Having just seen success during the Fools Gold Wars and World War VIII, we wanted to keep our army strong and focused through another war. To keep PIC strong and focused on the conflict we increased our recruiting and worked on maintaining our size.

Are you satisfied with how the People’s Imperial Confederation performed during the conflict? Is there anything that you wish the army did differently?

Shallissa: Yes I am definitely satisfied with PIC’s performance. While I wish we could have battled an army closer to our size, the Trojans were a strong option due to the state of the S/M community at that time. I also wish that war had done more to improve our size and ensure the growth of the Confederation, additionally I wish it would have lasted longer. However, I am impressed by the strength PIC showed during that conflict.

Conclusion

Though it has almost been two years since the War of the Old World, it is notable for being one of the quickest war victories that we have ever achieved. That being said, this was not the first conflict we have won and will certainly not be the last.
